Letter To The Editor: LA Cares Thanks Farmers’ Market And Mystery Man

By LA Cares Board Members
With grateful hearts

LA Cares, our local food pantry, set up a table to take in donations at Thursday’s Farmers’ Market. We would like to thank the vendors and customers who donated produce and other items for our distribution later that day and Friday morning.

One interesting older gentleman wandered past our table several times, then came up to talk. He opened his wallet, took out a $100 bill, and said, “Thank you for all you do.”

We were so surprised and stunned that we neglected to get the man’s name in order to thank him properly. So, to

It’s harder to praise God when an unexpected bill arises but the income doesn’t change. It’s harder to praise God when I feel like I have failed. It’s harder to praise God when we lose loved ones. The truth is, there are a lot of times when it is hard to praise God.

I used to think that all of the Psalms were Pollyanna type messages of how perfect life was for the believer and how easy it must be to praise the Lord. Then I read them. I realized that many,
