Extra Chance To Win Prizes At Los Alamos ScienceFest: Dress In Costume, Volunteer

This year ScienceFest has an Apple watch, a hover board, a spy watch with camera, a new Polaroid camera and a super spy kit to give away! Volunteer to help or come to Festival Day 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ashley Pond Park dressed in a costume for an extra chance to win one of these prizes.

We are asking everyone in the community to dress in either period attire – vintage 1940’s garb, or as a spy. This year’s theme is espionage, so dress up and come to the festival on Saturday, July 16 at Ashley Pond for an extra chance to win! Swing by the information book to register for the drawing and receive an extra ticket if you are dressed in costume. Volunteers will also receive an extra ticket.

How else can you win these prizes? 

  • Apple watch, spy watch and super spy kit: fill out a form at festival day between 11 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Prizes will be given out on the stage at 3 p.m. Must be present to win.
  • Hover Board: Participate in the Festival Day scavenger hunt 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 16 at Ashley Pond, for a chance to win. Hover board will be will be given away on the stage at 3pm. Must be present to win.
  • Polaroid camera: Participate in the #hashtag contest on festival day, posting live with photos of festival day on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the #hashtag #losalamosscifest2016 and #NewMexicoTrue. Camera will be will be given away on the stage at 3 p.m. Must be present to win.

Los Alamos ScienceFest is July 14-17 and features Festival Day at Ashley Pond, the Drone Zone obstacle course competition, Rocket Day, a spy movie in the park, and a concert at historic Ashley Pond. The beer tent will feature scientists chatting about their work at Science and Suds. New this year is the espionage panel discussion, the New Mexico True Spy Tour, and the Spy Academy for kids.
