Letter To The Editor: LA Cares Thanks Farmers’ Market And Mystery Man

By LA Cares Board Members
With grateful hearts

LA Cares, our local food pantry, set up a table to take in donations at Thursday’s Farmers’ Market. We would like to thank the vendors and customers who donated produce and other items for our distribution later that day and Friday morning.

One interesting older gentleman wandered past our table several times, then came up to talk. He opened his wallet, took out a $100 bill, and said, “Thank you for all you do.”

We were so surprised and stunned that we neglected to get the man’s name in order to thank him properly. So, to the kind and generous gentleman — THANK YOU! (If you come to our table next month, we will be happy to write a receipt for you.)

We will be at the Farmers’ Market on future Thursdays before our monthly distribution on the following dates: Aug. 11, Sept. 8 and Oct. 13. We accept donations of fresh produce, baked goods, canned goods, personal products and paper products.
