Chamisa Hosts Reunion For Graduating Seniors

Michael Clegg with his Chamisa Elementary School 6th grade buddies, Sam Grothaus and Brian Peterson, on their graduation year. Clegg who graduates this week is seen with his kinderbuddy Brigham Conlin who graduates Wednesday from Chamisa. Chamisa is holding a reunion for graduating seniors of the class of 2016 who attended Chamisa. While 6th graders at Chamisa, students are given a kindergarten student as a buddy. When the 6th grader is in their senior year, they return to the school to see their kindergarten buddy who is preparing to graduate from 6th great and head to Los Alamos Middle School. Read More

In a single day, the LA Cares shelves went from practically empty to almost full.

Saturday, May 14, the local members of the National Letter Carriers Association, assisted by Scouts from the Sangre de Cristo District,  held their semi-annual food drive. An estimated seven tons of food, set next to mailboxes all over town, and contributed by shoppers at both Smith’s stores, was picked up, sorted and moved into storage.

The prophet Hosea had a unique situation; God commanded him to marry a woman who would be unfaithful to him. Hosea’s wife, Gomer, constantly left him in order to prostitute herself out to others; sometimes bearing their children. She showed no remorse for her actions, but Hosea persisted in trying to win her back.

In spite of humiliating circumstances, Hosea was faithful to his wife and tried to get her to be faithful to him as well. At one point, Hosea actually bought back his wife from another man that she has left him for.
