LAHS Graduate Duncan Fuehne Wins National Title

Los Alamos High School graduate Duncan Fuehne ran a tremendous race Dec. 2 at D2 Nationals on a snowy course in Seattle, Wash. Fuehne finished 3rd overall in 29:43 for the 10K course. He was the 2nd finisher for National Championship Colorado School of Mines (teammate Dillon Powell was Individual Champ). The Ore Diggers won with a remarkable 43 points to runner-up Wingate’s 177 points. In his senior year at LAHS, Fuehne finished 3rd overall (2nd Topper) on the State Champion Hilltoppers Boys XC team. Visit the Taylor-Mesilla Historic Property and explore its collection of more than 200 Nativity scenes from across the world Dec. 18 at Mesilla Plaza.

Terence Mitchell passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Fe Oct. 22, 2022. Terry was born in Haywards Heath, Sussex, England in 1937, where he met his life partner Marion Mitchell née Wyatt when they were teenagers.

Terry went on to receive his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Cambridge. Terry, advised at Cambridge by Sir Peter Hirsch, was one of the pioneers of transmission electron microscopy. He continued as a postdoctoral fellow at the Cavendish Laboratory at Cambridge before emigrating to the United States in 1963 and joining the faculty Read More
