Navajo Man Pleads Guilty To Discharging Firearm While Assaulting Four Indian Women And Two Children

FBI News:

ALBUQUERQUE—Jeffrey J. Franklin, 31, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation who resides in Shiprock, pleaded guilty Wednesday in Albuquerque to violating the federal firearms laws by discharging a firearm during an act of violence.

Under the terms of his plea agreement, Franklin will be sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.

DEA Launches ‘El Chapo’ Tip Line … $5 Million Reward

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has opened a toll-free tip line where the general public in the United States, Mexico, Central and South America can report any information that could aid in the apprehension of Sinaloa Cartel leader Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman-Loera, who escaped a Mexican prison in July.

A degree of confusion occurred last Friday when a juvenile thought to be armed was running from police in White Rock and the County initiated its CodeRED notification system to alert residents to stay in their homes until the individual was apprehended.

County Begins Testing School Zone Flashing Lights

Technicians from the Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets Division will test school zone flashers across the community the two days immediately prior to the new school year, which starts Aug. 13.

The flashing beacons will activate at school zones Tuesday, Aug. 11 and Wednesday, Aug. 12, according to their programed schedules, which are based on each school’s normal schedule.

The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) issued two recent updates to this evening’s earlier notification that the Emergency Operations Center was activated.
