Summer’s here and every Friday night, big hunks of the population of Los Alamos can be found at the current Los Alamos Summer Concert Series show of the week, also known as the Gordon’s Concert.
Russ Gordon, father of the Concert Series, has been providing great free concerts in Los Alamos for 22 years.
Gordon didn’t start out to be a concert promoter. It just sort of happened.

Public Invited to 2012 Opera Season Preview
SFO News:
Well known soloist Alicia Solomon of Los Alamos will present highlights of the 2012 Santa Fe Opera season at 7 p.m., Thursday June 14 at Mesa Public Library.
The 2012 season runs June 29 – Aug. 25 and will feature five new productions, including three new to the Santa Fe Opera’s repertoire.
The season opens with Tosca, featuring the American debut of renowned soprano Amanda Echalaz.
Bizet’s stunning opera The Pearl Fishers will be performed for the first time in Santa Fe.

Community Winds in Semi-Finals for American Prize
The Los Alamos Community Winds has been selected as one of two semi-finalists for the 2012 American Prize in Wind Ensemble/Concert band Performance – Community Division.
