Friday is Los Alamos Daily Post Night at Los Alamos County Concert Series at Ashley Pond!

By Russ Gordon

This Friday night, June 22 is Los Alamos Daily Post Night. This fantastic new website that specializes in local news is a new sponsor to our Series.

Please check out their site www.ladailypost.com and come and meet their staff Friday.

This Friday we’ll be at Ashley Pond with one of the great Texas entertainers of our time. Guy Forsyth is known for his great live shows.

He’s outrageously funny, as well as raucous, rowdy, gritty and full of hope. Guy plays folk, country, rock, blues, Americana and Tin Pan Alley.

Check out his website at www.guyforsyth.com, or www.myspace.com/guyforsythband, or www.youtube.com and write in ”Guy Forsyth.”
Forsyth was one of the founders of the Asylum Street Spankers. Talk about rowdy and outrageous! He never played with that group in Los Alamos.

He did play a tremendous solo Father’s Day show here about seven years ago.

His website says he’s played a number of large festival around the world including the Austin City Music Festival, High Sierra Music Fest near Yosemite, California and “the Los Alamos Concert Series.”

(This is what the website says! It’s true. Yes folks, we have a real good Series, if I must say so myself, and it’s recognized by many.)

Anyway, Guy has played BBQ & Blues in New York, the Tonder Fest in Denmark and the Rhythm & Blues Fest in Belgium.

He’s shared the stage with BB King, Ray Charles, Lucinda Williams and many more.

On Friday, June 29 we’ll be up at the Pajarito Ski Area with the great San Francisco rock band, Chuck Prophet & The Mission Express. Their website is www.chuckprophet.com.

You’ll get a chance to meet the LA Monitor staff on July 6, “LA Monitor Night,” starring the legendary Tex-Mex rockers, Joe King Carrasco and his band.
Please invite you family and friends to the shows for me. We have food vendors or you can bring your own picnic basket or bag. Come on out, it’d be nice to have you.
