DPU Begins Mailing Out Utility Bills Today

COUNTY News:

After a month of delays, the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities affirms that July utility bills are being mailed.

Customers in White Rock should expect to see a utility bill in their mail boxes by Monday or Tuesday.  Customers in the townsite should begin to see their bills shortly thereafter. 

According to Deputy Utilities Manager James Alarid, late fees have been waived for the time being until the department can get back on to a regular billing schedule.

This Saturday will be the second to last White Rock Artist Market for the summer. The market is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., outside of the White Rock Visitor Center at 115 N.M. 4.

The Democratic Party of Los Alamos is having a button design contest! Up to 10 finalists will be chosen and unveiled at the Grand Office Opening gathering with U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Lujan, 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 at 1362 Trinity. Dr., Suite  B.
 
Attendees will purchase tickets to cast their votes (five votes for $5) for their favorite designs. The winning design will be featured and used throughout the campaign season.
 
Button designs can be a slogan, graphics, etc. that can fit into a 2 1/4″ diameter circle.
