The ‘Pink’ moon spotted early this morning from White Rock appears larger than average because it is three days past perigee, the point in its orbit when it is nearest to earth, according to Space.com. Although the name suggests the moon will appear a certain color, that is not true. Instead the moon is named pink after the color of wild ground phlox, one of the early spring flowers. JEMEZ SPRINGS — For the second year, the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico (PAPNM) will host a “Spring Paintout and Show” April 26-May 1 at various locations in and around the beautiful Village of Jemez Springs.
 
An exhibition will follow, May 4-23 with an opening reception and awards ceremony.
