Governor Puts Phase Two Economic Reopening On Hold

During a press conference this afternoon, New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced that the phase 2 economic reopening scheduled for July 1 is on hold.
The decision comes after recent spikes in COVID-19 cases in surrounding states in the region.
The state will continue to evaluate transmission rates and the rise in national cases for an additional week before making decisions about:
- Raising the mass gatherings limit; and
- Additional limited, COVID-safe reopenings.

DOE/NNSA Informs Los Alamos County Of Contaminated Material Uncovered While Digging On DP Road
COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County officials have been notified by DOE/NNSA that additional radiological, Manhattan Project era materials were uncovered Wednesday on the edge of DP Road while digging for the lift station sewer infrastructure being installed to serve Canyon Walk Apartments.
The site has been secured with no access while an investigation is underway. The County is cooperating with DOE/NNSA officials and has been informed there is no threat to public health.

NMDOT Launches New Statewide ENDWI Campaign June 29

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Transportation will use animation for the first time in a new ENDWI campaign at the end of June that also promotes the states COVID-19 safe practices.

Los Alamos Chamber Of Commerce Distributing 3,000 Masks
CHAMBER News:
The state of New Mexico is partnering with various business organizations to give 171,000 cloth face coverings to small businesses around the state for free distribution to workers and customers who don’t have their own.
The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce received 3,000 of these masks and will distribute these to local businesses.

The FBI arrested Mark Christopher Arnold, 38, of Albuquerque Wednesday on a federal arrest warrant charging him with making threats over the Internet.
