New Mexico Grown Fruits And Vegetables For Senior Meals Pilot Program Deemed Major Success

In a time when New Mexican’s are challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic, and seniors and students are no longer able to participate in meals at senior centers and schools, New Mexico seniors are benefiting from a new state initiative called the New Mexico Grown Fruits and Vegetables for Senior Meals Program Pilot.
At noon Wednesday, June 24, local farmers will deliver freshly picked vegetables to the Sandoval County Meadowlark Senior Center at 4330 Meadowlark Lane in Rio Rancho, to be prepped Thursday and delivered to seniors Friday to enjoy.

SFCC: Kids Campus And Santa Fe Higher Education Center To Observe Independence Day Weekend July 3-5
SFCC News:
Santa Fe Community College and the Santa Fe Higher Education Center will observe Independence Day weekend, Friday through Sunday, July 3-5.
No classes will be held, and no student services will be available. SFCC’s child development center, Kids Campus will be closed.

Scenes Of Accident At Bottom Of Main Hill Road Today

Scene of a one-vehicle accident this afternoon at the bottom of the Main Hill Road. Witnesses rushed to the vehicle, opened the door and said that the driver was able to climb out on his own. A witness told the Los Alamos Daily Post that the driver was tailgating him all the way down the hill, at times swerving a bit. Just before the turn-off to White Rock the driver gunned it to 50-60 mph driving around the witness, lost control, veered down the slope of the overpass and across the roadway where he smashed into a Jersey Barrier nearly head on. SANTA FE — The state of New Mexico is partnering with various business organizations to give 171,000 cloth face coverings to small businesses around the state for free distribution to workers and customers who don’t have their own.
