Traffic Crash At Bottom Of Truck Route Closes Roadway

UPDATE: The road closure on Truck Route is still in effect; however, the western roadblock on East Jemez is just east of Elk Ridge Mobile Home Park to allow residents to access Elk Ridge.

LAPD News:

A vehicle crash occurred this morning in which a dump truck overturned at the bottom of the truck route (East Jemez) at mile marker # 9. One person has been transported for injuries.

There is also a diesel spill.

Los Alamos Police, Santa Fe Sherriff’s Office, Los Alamos Fire Department and LANL Hazmat are on the scene.

The truck route is now closed in both directions.

Driver’s are instructed to please avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

A notification will be provided when the roadway is re-opened.
