Petree Garden Center & Florist News:

A new Terrarium Bar is now open for the community at Petree Garden Center & Florist at 2470 E Road.

“We serve ‘em on the rocks,” owner Laural Hardin said. “Come in and build your own terrarium. We have lots of cool mosses, rocks and unique containers or pottery to choose from, with the most extensive succulent, cacti and tropical plant selection in the area.”

Create a one-of-a-kind living decor piece for home or office, she said, adding that they make great gifts or come with a friend to spend some time together at the bar.

“The Terrarium Bar is an expression of our commitment to offer new and relevant ways to make your home space into a sanctuary,” Hardin said.

In addition to the monthly Flower Subscription Box, Petree Garden Center & Florist is adding more gift and decor options for Los Alamos shoppers.

“Green plants are essential for a relaxing interior, but you can also find specialty gifts and jewelry in our shop,” she said.

Petree carries handmade greeting cards, quality fresh cut flowers, vases, statuary and local soaps from Second Bloom Farm.

“The launch of the Terrarium Bar is possible because of the outstanding support from the Los Alamos community,” Hardin said. “It has been beyond challenging for small businesses to operate during a pandemic. We have lost a few, and my heart is heavy for what a community loses when small businesses close. Because so many of you made a concerted effort to shop local, even when the future was uncertain, we are able to expand your shopping experience, right here on the hill. So see you at the bar soon.”
