Film Review: The Snapper

Pregnant women get asked many questions as they await their babies: When are you due? Is it a boy or a girl? Have you picked out a name? Have you written a birth plan?

Or even, sometimes: Who’s the father?

Instructor Rita Brake offers Renew Fitness Classes or Renew Boot Camp at the First Baptist Church-LA Gymnasium at 2200 Diamond Drive.

Toppers Win Big at Los Alamos Classic Invitational

Staff Report

Los Alamos High Schools girls took first place Saturday at the Los Alamos Classic Invitational with 164 points..  Hope Christian was second with 148 points.  The Topper boys took first with 171 1/2 points while Hope Christian had 124 1/2 points.

It was a very successful day for the Toppers as several Los Alamos High School students qualified for the state meet.

Third Weird Creature Sighted in Los Alamos

As we were walking down Trinity Drive we met up with another unusual creature, the third sighted in Los Alamos in the the last month.  
 
This one was headed toward Crossroads Bible Church and we were delighted “It” was willing to talk with us.   
 
Ambassador Geriton from the sulfurous planet Marndock has been invited to Los Alamos along with the previous weird creatures, Ambassadors Dannyborg and Ramseed to participate in a U.F.F.D.A conference.
 
We were promised an interview within the week with more details.

The Legal Tender is Open

The restaurant in the little village of Lamy, 18 miles south of Santa Fe, has reopened for weekends after being closed for many years. It’s being run as a non-profit venture with proceeds going to the Lamy Railroad and History Museum located in the same building. Lamy is the Amtrak stop for Santa Fe, the first New Mexico place the early scientists saw when they arrived to work on the Manhattan Project.

The Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos was recognized by the Kiwanis Southwest District today for excellence. Lt Governor Ray Valdez attended the Tuesday lunch meeting to hand out the awards. Hilltopper Graduate to Swim at Division III NCAA Championship

Kara Leasure, 2008 Los Alamos High School graduate and Bates College senior captain, is set to compete at the 2012 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on March 21-24, at the Indiana Natatorium in Indianapolis.  Kara won the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) title in the 200 breaststroke on Feb. 19, finishing with a new personal best of 2:21.11, breaking her own Bates record.  She also topped off the regular season by recording national consideration times of 4:35.58 in the 400 individual medley, and a 5:04:09 in her 500 freestyle.
