Investigators Seek Public’s Help in Solving Navajo Man’s Death
The FBI and Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations are asking the public for information regarding an apparent hit-and-run death that occurred last Saturday night in Fruitland, N.M.
Stanley Begay, a 51-year-old Navajo man, was found dead on Navajo Route 36, near Mile Post 17, about 15 miles southwest of Farmington, at about 8:46 p.m. Saturday.
Begay was walking along Navajo Route 36 when he apparently was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.
No witnesses have come forward.

Just before returning home to White Rock after the close of the 2012 Legislative Session Thursday, Rep. Jim Hall shared his thoughts on the last 30 days at the state capitol.
“While you’re in the midst of it, it’s sort of a blur,” Hall said. “The primary purpose of the 30-day session is to get a budget passed and we got a pretty good budget passed ($5.65 billion.) UNM-Los Alamos is hosting the free film series, “Fairy Tale Thursdays” at 6 p.m. every second and fourth Thursday through May in the UNM-LA Student Center Lecture Hall.
The series will explore the rich tradition of fairy tales in film.

Los Alamos Democratic Party Holding County Convention
The Los Alamos Democratic Party will hold its County Convention at 7 p.m., Feb. 23 in the upstairs meeting room at the Hilltop House Hotel on Trinity Drive.
Members will divide into wards to select 20 delegates and one alternate to attend the State Democratic Pre-Primary Convention March 10 in Albuquerque.
