The last storm to hit New Mexico dumped almost eight inches of snow in Los Alamos. Being a bit snow-starved this year, a group of horse enthusiasts at the stable area on Los Alamos’ North Mesa decided to take the opportunity to enjoy a high-octane horse-powered sport: skijoring.

More than 100 researchers from around the world have collaborated to craft a request that could fundamentally alter how the antibodies used in research are identified, a project potentially on the scale of the now-completed Human Genome Project.

Pile Burning To Continue This Weekend

Pile burning will continue this weekend on Los Alamos County lands, but just where and when is dependent on the predicted ventilation.

The Los Alamos Fire Department is looking for an opportunity to burn the remainder of Bayo Canyon and Gonzales Canyon this weekend including 5-8 acres remaining in the bottom of the canyon and a few more piles remaining on the shelf.
