Byron Henderson To Spend Four Years In Prison

Byron Henderson, arrested last March during Los Alamos Police Department’s Operation Spring Cleaning, will serve a four-year prison sentence on two drug-related charges following his sentencing by Chief Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer Jan. 4 in First Judicial Court.
The first count, possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine was reduced from a trafficking charge. Henderson was sentenced to 18 months on that charge and was handed a nine-year sentence on one count of trafficking with five years suspended. Read More

Judge Binds Sachin Pandey Over To District Court

Sachin Pandey, 31, of Los Alamos has been bound over to First Judicial Court on charges of aggravated battery, false imprisonment and attempt to commit a felony – sexual assault following a lengthy preliminary hearing Friday in Los Alamos Magistrate Court.

Advanced Metering Coming To Los Alamos
COUNTY News:
The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will be seeking approval in January from the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to award a contract for the purchase and installation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) for all of Los Alamos County.
AMI is a method of using communication technology to read meters remotely without having to physically access the meters on customers’ properties.
DPU will take the contract to the BPU at 5:30 p.m., Jan. 17 in Council Chambers at 1000 Central Ave. The contract will then go to the Los Alamos County Council Jan. 30 for approval. Read More
