Living Treasures Of Los Alamos 2020 Ceremony Postponed

Living Treasures News:
The ceremony to honor the 2020 recipients of the Living Treasures of Los Alamos awards, originally scheduled for April 26, has been postponed to an undetermined date.
This year, the organization is honoring the volunteer contributions of Linda Foard Burns, Don Casperson and Lois M. Eddleman.
The awards ceremony, held annually in the later half of April, must be postponed this year because of the coronavirus.
The rescheduled date will be announced in the future.

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced that Basic Law Enforcement Academy Class No. 200 cadets and New Mexico State Police Recruit Class No. 96 recruits are being sent home.

The New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy in Santa Fe will be closed amidst the growing COVID-19 pandemic. The closure is effective at 5 p.m., Friday, March 27.

The Los Alamos Community Foundation (LACF) has established the Nonprofit Emergency Response Funds, in partnership with a growing list of local businesses and foundations.

These funds will support and assist nonprofit organizations in northern New Mexico as they respond to the impact of COVID-19 within the local communities.

Chamber Sets Up Support Fund For Vandalized Businesses

CHAMBER News:

In the early morning of Saturday, March 28, seven businesses in Los Alamos were broken into and vandalized.

The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce has set up an account at Enterprise Bank & Trust to help these businesses pay insurance deductibles and out of pocket expenses to get their damage repaired.

N3B Los Alamos Employee Tests Positive For COVID-19 Virus

Late Monday afternoon employees at N3B Los Alamos, the Los Alamos legacy cleanup contractor, received the following notification from management:

N3B management was notified that a member of our team had tested positive for COVID-19.
