Rhonda Lou Vigil passed away peacefully at home in Albuquerque, NM, on Wednesday morning, January 21, 2026.

Rhonda Lou Adams was born February 12, 1950, in Albuquerque, NM. Many of her family’s stories and her childhood memories were in the home where she was born.

Rhonda was the youngest of five daughters born to Aline Adams, and the only daughter of Isaac Adams.

Rhonda met her husband, Robert L. Vigil, at Del Norte High School when they were both 15 years old. They were married on June 1, 1968. They had a son, Robert, in 1969. Robert was born in Albuquerque.

New Mexico lawmakers are moving forward with a new version of a medical malpractice overhaul bill that would limit the amount jurors could award in punitive damages but includes a higher cap for large hospital systems than other providers.
