UPDATE: The Los Alamos County Administrator’s Office has made available the Letters of Interest submitted by seven local residents who want to be considered to fill a vacancy on the Los Alamos County Council.  Click HERE to view the letters.

The Democratic Party of Los Alamos County Central Committee tonight unanimously elected Michael Redondo to replace Ken Johnson who officially withdrew his name from the Los Alamos County Council race Aug. 17.

Redondo, 32, has lived in Los Alamos since the age of 3. He earned his master’s degree a little over a year ago in community and regional planning. He is the owner/director of Michael Redondo, LLC, a Biodiversity Planning, Outreach and Education company.

On Thursday, Democratic Senatorial candidate Rep. Martin Heinrich met Oz Einstein Armbruster, the dog attacked by another dog while campaigning door-to-door for Heinrich with his owner Karyl Ann Armbruster a few weeks ago. Democratic candidate Ken Johnson officially withdrew his name from the Los Alamos County Council race, filing his paperwork with the Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office late this morning.

Johnson shared with the Los Alamos Daily Post his reasons for leaving the race.

Los Alamos Democratic Party Opens 2012 Headquarters

UPDATE: The Democratic Headquarters will open to the public with regular hours begining Saturday, Aug. 25.

The Los Alamos County Democratic Party inked a deal this afternoon to lease a space in Central Park Square for its 2012 campaign headquarters.
