Jemez Springs 4th Of July Fireworks Show Canceled

JEMEZ SPRINGS—The Village of Jemez Springs has canceled its planned fireworks show scheduled for Tuesday night. 

Mayor Roger Sweet spoke with the Fire Chief and out of an abundance of caution, due to dry conditions caused by lack of rain in recent weeks, decided to cancel the fireworks portion of the 4th of July festivities on Tuesday.

ALL previously announced events will take place as planned including:

Local growers will be selling items beginning at 9 a.m. at the Farmer’s Market along with arts and crafts vendors. There is no fee to be a vendor.

Pick up your FREE solar car kit at the nature center during open hours through Friday, July 7.

Follow the instructions or customize it however you’d like. Bring your car to the Electric Vehicle Show at ScienceFest, 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8 to participate in the solar car race.

Prizes will be given for both the fastest and best-looking cars. If you had a kit from last year’s ScienceFest, you are welcome to enter that as well. Watch the video above for help with building your car.
