The community of Los Alamos is invited to the celebration for the Ross and Lola Ramsey Stage at 6 p.m. March 17 in the Duane Smith Auditorium lobby, prior to the Olions 7 p.m. performance of Pippin. The celebration will include refreshments and the unveiling of a plaque honoring the Ramseys and their contribution to the community, along with the announcement of the first scholarship recipient of the Ross and Lola Ramsey Memorial Scholarship. Nominations Open For 2023 Governor’s Awards For Excellence In The Arts

The New Mexico Arts Commission and New Mexico Arts, the state arts agency, are seeking nominations for the 2023 Governor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts.
Nominations for the awards may include individual New Mexican artists currently working in any discipline who have demonstrated outstanding achievement; individuals who have consistently made significant or distinguished contributions to the arts in New Mexico; or businesses, nonprofits, or foundations with sustained involvement in and support for the arts.
Nominations will be accepted until 4 p.m. May 5.

The New Mexico Film Office announced Feb. 15 that ‘American Primeval’, an action-adventure limited series from Netflix, will be filming this month in and around Santa Fe, including on Pajarito Mountain. The Los Alamos County Art in Public Places (APP) Board is seeking feedback on a developing project with the Los Alamos Little Theater Performing Arts Center WWII Era Boiler.
Art in Public Places Board has been asked to consider the WWll Era Boiler to be part of the Los Alamos County Art Collection.
The WWII era boiler was used to heat the Performing Arts Center when it was the dining hall during the Manhattan Project. It was originally coal burning; however, in the 1950s it was converted to natural gas. This was inefficient, considering the building was heated by steam. Read More
