Blue Window Hosts Wine Tasting March 4
Blue Window Bistro features wine-tasting March 4
The Blue Window Bistro will offer a Wine Tasting featuring the wines of Italy, from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 4.
Certified Sommelier Ben Niedleman and guest connoisseur Tom Hill will provide information and suggestions on tasting.
Tickets are $30 per person and include 10 one-ounce tastes and hors d’oeuvres. Reservations are required, call 662-6305.
The Blue Window Bistro has a loyal clientele and 28 years of service.

Donated Milling Machine is the Hive’s Newest Asset

Last week Chris Luchini donated a Sherline 5400 Milling Machine with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) to the Hive.
Over the weekend Richard Browning, Jung Pyo Hong and Sam Park have been working to restore the machine, which was probably made in the mid to late 80’s, so that members of the Hive can use it to create prototypes and models.

Los Alamos County’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Evaluation and Oversight Committee will hold two public hearings at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 6 and Thursday, March 8 in Council Chambers for those applicants who have indicated that they are ready to move from Phase 1 (Study) to Phase 2 (Design/Construction).

Receiving the entries for the Fuller Lodge Art Center’s newest show, “Beauty and the Beast” was similar to awarding homework an A+, Director Ken Nebel said. Every piece made the grade.

The Los Alamos Little Theatre will present “The Giver” by Eric Coble, adapted from the Newbery Medal winning book for young people by Lois Lowry. Originally scheduled to open this Friday, the play will now open Friday March 2 and run through March 17. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and 2:30 p.m. Saturday matinees. n honor of its 100th year of statehood, the New Mexico Museum of History is requesting first-person accounts of life in 2012.

SID Arrests Local Servers Friday Night During Alcohol Compliance Sweep

Allowing themselves to be distracted for an instant Friday night, landed two local restaurant servers in jail.
Jason Minturn and Holly Mechels were arrested during an alcohol compliance sweep conducted by members of the Special Investigations Division (SID) of the New Mexico Department of Public Safety.
“We visited 11 establishments in the Los Alamos area and arrested servers at the Conoco Gas Station and Deli adjacent to the Hilltop House Hotel and the Blue Window Bistro,” said Lt. Chris Ortiz of SID in Santa Fe.
