New seasonal and Los Alamos welcome banners are being hung downtown on the Central Avenue streetlights.
The old banners were several years old, worn out, and in need of replacing.
A state funded MainStreet grant has helped the County update the banners.
Designed and featuring photographs by Leslie Bucklin, the new banners feature some of Los Alamos’ most notable attractions – summer outdoor activities, historic district, skiing, and community events, as well as stunning area scenery.

East Road Lane Closure Changed to Friday
DPU News:
Due to weather, officials with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities have indicated that a lane closure scheduled to occur Thursday, Sept. 13 will now occur Friday, Sept 14.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m., the eastbound traffic lane on East Road near Los Alamos County Fire Station 6 and Tewa Loop will close.
Construction crews replacing a section of natural gas line along the south side of East Road will excavate into the closed lane to tie the new line into the gas distribution system.
No interruption of gas services is expected.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 18 and running approximately two weeks, residents in Los Alamos County may be receiving a phone call asking for feedback on the Community Broadband Network project; a “last-mile” fiber network that will provide open and advanced broadband communications access to all Los Alamos County citizens, businesses and institutions.
