Food on the Hill: Pumpkin Mousse in a Chocolate Cup

- Paper muffin cups
- 1 brush to paint chocolate
- 1 (15oz) pumpkin
- 1 pkg. (6oz) instant vanilla pudding
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 cups cool whip

Melt chocolate according to directions. “Paint” a layer of chocolate on the inside of the paper cup. I used a little fancier cups, but plain ones work just as well.

The next meeting of the Los Alamos Geological Society will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Christian Church, 92 East Road, Los Alamos.
The featured speaker is Kirt Kempter, a field geologist, photographer and teacher based in Santa Fe.
A Fulbright Fellow, Kempter has led many geologic expeditions to Bryce, Zion and Grand Canyon National Parks, and has published numerous maps and articles on the geology of the American Southwest.
He received his Ph.D. in geology from the University of Texas.

Charlotte Ulrich and Liz Lockhart were the top all-around scorers for the Atomic Tumbler’s at the Los Alamos Invitational on Nov. 3.
Ulrich, with a 35.55 in the all-around, and Lockhart with a 35.45, were among 137 gymnasts from seven teams that participated in the meet.
Thirty Atomic Tumblers’ competed; 14, including Ulrich and Lockhart, in the Jr. Olympic Program, 14 in the Xcel Program, and two competed in both.

NMDOT News:
The public is invited to comment on the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s sixth amendment to the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP.)
The program will serve as a four-year plan for the state’s federal aid highway program.
The NMDOT has posted the 2012-2015 STIP amendment on the Internet asking for public comment until Dec. 19. Final Public comment will be held at the NMDOT General Office in Santa Fe 1-4 p.m., Dec. 19.

The Los Alamos County Library System online catalog will be unavailable to patrons 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 27.
Though patrons may not notice a big difference, the planned upgrade to the integrated library system software will increase efficiency for librarians’ behind-the-scenes tasks.
While the system is unavailable patrons will not be able to use any online services: they will not be able to search for books, make requests, check their account, or use the downloadable e books and audio books services.
