Meet at PEEC on Orange Street at 5:30 p.m. to carpool to the trailhead. Weather permitting, the group will drive to the ski hill and strole up the maintenance road to the east. There are really nice flowers including the fairly rare Delphinium sapellonis and five nerved sunflower.

Natalie McCall Stanhope passed away peacefully July 12, 2013, after a long illness, she was 88.
She was born in Woodston, Kansas; to Henry and Emma McCall, on May 12, 1925. She met John Stanhope in 1939, they were married on December 24, 1942 in Bremerton, WA, during World War II–Pearl Harbor. They just celebrated their 70th anniversary. They celebrated their honeymoon at Niagara Falls, NY. LAFD Wraps Up Granite Mountain Family Donations This Weekend

The Los Alamos Fire Department is wrapping up donation collections for the families of the 19 Granite Mountain Hot Shots who tragically lost their lives in the Yarnell Hill Wildfire in Prescott, Ariz. June 30.
These same firefighters defended Los Alamos and Los Alamos National Laboratory from the Las Conchas Fire of June 2011, and more recently from the threat of the Thompson Ridge Fire in the Jemez Mountains west of Los Alamos.
