There’s still time to support a Los Alamos High School alumni as he prepares to ride in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Pedal los Pueblos this weekend.
Scott Hardy, son of Matt and Becky Hardy will ride hard Saturday and Sunday with his wife Selena Hardy (formerly Marroquin) assisting in the rest stops along the way. The two day, figure eight route through northern New Mexico, raises funds and awareness for the movement and makes new connections along the way.

Atomic City Children’s Theater to Hold Auditions for 2015 Junior Theater Festival Field Trip

Atomic City Children’s Theater (ACCT), the Los Alamos Public Schools’ award winning after-school theater program, is excited to announce auditions for its Junior Theater Festival (JTF) field trip to Atlanta, Ga.
Auditions will be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 and are open to all students between the ages of 8-18 in the Los Alamos or White Rock area. Students wishing to participate in the field trip should come to the Mountain Elementary School gym. Registration begins noon.

The Unitarian Church of Los Alamos returns to its regular schedule Sunday, Sept. 7.
This week, the church year opens with its annual water communion ceremony – a mingling and sharing of waters from summer journeys – and Rev. John Cullinan will preach on water as a symbol of common humanity.
The church choir sings this Sunday, performing the traditional hymn “Peace Like a River,” and “All the Rivers” by Charles Baker, based on the words of Ecclesiastes. The worship service is preceded by the weekly forum at 9 a.m. and children’s religious education at 9:30 a.m.
