Los Alamos Genealogical Association Meets Sept. 11

The Los Alamos Genealogical Association will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at Mesa Public Library in Los Alamos.

This is the organization’s first meeting for this genealogical year (the school year) and will include a presentation and discuss several news items and annoucements. Included is updates on the Guaje Pines Cemetery and its status on the FindAGrave and the Billion Graves websites. There will be a short report from the FGS Conference recently held in San Antonio, Texas and also plan on showing a short clip from the Who Do You Think You Are? series airing on The Learning Channel.

Prior to the meeting, the group will gather at 5:30 p.m. for a no host dinner at China Moon in the Central Park Square. The public is invited.

Also, a free one day genealogical conference coming up in Albuquerque Saturday, Sept. 13. Among the speakers are Irma Holtkamp and George Jennings of the Los Alamos Genealogical Association. The speaker for the Oct. 9 meeting of the Los Alamos Genealogical Association is Lisa Kendrick, the genealogical librarian for the Albuquerque Public Library.
