DALA News:

Dance Arts Los Alamos is offering a Free Dance Week Sept. 8-13. Dancers aged 3 through adult who are new to DALA are invited to take any class of the appropriate level at no charge during this promotional week.

“Whether dancing for fun, aspiring to a professional career, or supporting a healthier lifestyle,” DALA School Director Jonathan Guise said. “Dance Arts Los Alamos offers an engaging and supportive environment to explore an amazing form of expression. I invite you to join us and see the new Dance Arts Los Alamos. Even if you would like to just watch class, I promise you won’t be disappointed. I dance because I can; by doing so I let go of who I was and become who I am.”

With studios in both Los Alamos and White Rock, DALA’s professional faculty offers more than 60 classes each week. These class offerings include Creative Movement, Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, Ballet-Jazz and Ballet-Tap combos for young dancers. Older dancers can choose from Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap, Musical Theater, Swing and Conditioning. Finally, adults are invited to try classes in Ballet, Conditioning, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop.

If you have always wanted to experience the art of dance, now is the time to dust off your shoes and give it a try.

DALA is proud to announce its all new production of “The Snow Queen,” to be performed on Winterfest Weekend. This magical story, which provided the inspiration for the movie “Frozen,” will be performed Dec. 5, 6, and 7 at the Duane Smith Auditorium. Auditions for young dancers aged 5-8 will take place at noon Sunday, Sept. 7 beginning at the White Rock studio. Dancers must be enrolled in at least one DALA class in order to participate.

The entire Fall Schedule, including studio locations and class times, can be found at www.danceartslosalamos.org. Pre-registration is not required, but a liability waiver must be signed before participating in Free Dance Week.

Any questions regarding the Free Dance Week or The Snow Queen should be directed to the DALA office at 505.672.9462 or office@danceartslosalamos.org.
