Judicial Compensation Commission Meets Wednesday

SANTA FE ― The Judicial Compensation Commission will meet Wednesday to consider recommendations to the Legislature for a possible judicial salary increase in the 2019 fiscal year.

TIME: 9 a.m.
DATE: Wednesday, July 5.
PLACE: Supreme Court Building, Room 208, 237 Don Gaspar, Santa Fe.

The independent six-member commission is required by state law to annually recommend a judicial pay plan to the Legislative Finance Committee and the Department of Finance and Administration.

State Drunk Driving Ads Recognized Nationally

SANTA FE ― Gov. Susana Martinez has announced that one of the state’s TV ad campaigns called, “Reality Series – Over the Limit,” to combat DWI is featured on the Governors Highway Safety Association’s website. This showcases what New Mexico is doing to fight drunk driving to other states.

“I am very pleased that New Mexico can be an example to other states,” Martinez said. “Drunk driving is 100 percent preventable and my administration will do everything in our power to stop it – because even one death to a drunk driver

NMSP/Local Agencies Conduct Warrant Round Up For Absconders From Justice

NMSP News:

The New Mexico State Police in conjunction with local and federal agencies continually conduct warrant round-ups for absconders from justice.

June 30, the NMSP Santa Fe Uniform Bureau, along with the Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office and New Mexico Adult Probation and Parole conducted a warrant round-up.

Four persons were located and arrested:

Mark Ramirez for Criminal Sexual Penetration, Second Degree;
Melinda Montoya for a DWI Probation violation;
Elmer Ornelas for burglary and failure to comply with child support requirements; and
Gabe Pacheco for traffic

Community Bids Farewell To LAAC’s Marlane Hamilton

Los Alamos Arts Council Executive Director Marlane Hamilton officially retired from her position Friday. To celebrate Hamilton’s many contributions to the arts organization as well as to the community, a farewell reception was held Friday night at Fuller Lodge. The event was catered by Blue Window Bistro. As a goodbye gift, the arts council presented Hamilton with a signed photograph of Fuller Lodge. Under 19 Rugby Teams Host Fundraiser July 4

The Los Alamos Under 19s boys and girls teams are holding a fundraiser during the Fourth of July celebration at Overlook Park. All proceeds from the Atomic Roasted Corn booth go toward purchasing new uniforms for the Los Alamos Nukes boys and the Los Alamos Bombshells girls teams. Three flavors of roasted corn will be offered; green chile bacon, chipotle and butter parmesan.
