New Mexico’s Cybersecurity Office Investigating Unauthorized Access To Information Systems At State Agency

SANTA FE — The Department of Information Technology’s (DoIT) Cybersecurity office is investigating unauthorized access at the state’s Regulation and Licensing Department (RLD).

The state continues to investigate the situation, but is confident that any unauthorized access has been isolated and mitigated.

The state is working closely with cybersecurity experts to make sure adequate protections are in place to prevent personal identifiable information of employees and RLD customers from being compromised.

Whether you love or hate the idea of Biden’s student loan forgiveness program, be aware of incoming student loan forgiveness themed scams.  Scammers are already starting to theme phishing and phone/text scams to this topic.

Plans released by the government for the forgiveness program have been vague, with borrowers instructed to sign up for email alerts, and that enrollment will be available in early October. 

This has left some borrowers, with repayments set to continue in January, in a panic.

New Mexico Kicks-off Digital Inclusion Week Oct. 3-7

SANTA FE — The Office of Broadband Access and Expansion (OBAE) is joining the New Mexico Broadband Collective at the Broadband Summit today, Sept. 30.

This event is serving as a kick-off to the national Digital Inclusion Week. OBAE Director Kelly Schlegel will speak at the summit to offer a high-level overview of the state’s efforts to bridge the digital divide.
