LAPD: Crash On East N.M. 502 Near Twin Tanks Area … Traffic Down To One Lane

LAPD News:

Los Alamos Police have responded to a single vehicle crash on East N.M. 502 around mile marker 8 and the Twin Tanks area. The vehicle involved was a truck, and the driver was transported with unknown injuries. 

The Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office has taken over the scene.

FBI: Federal Charges Filed In Eddy County Deputy Shooting

ALBUQUERQUE — A Carlsbad man is facing federal charges after allegedly firing a rifle at an Eddy County Sheriff’s Office deputy responding to a call.

According to court records, Oct. 19, 2025, an Eddy County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched to the area of McKittrick and Hidalgo Road in Carlsbad, New Mexico, after a witness reported that Dustin Alan Henley, 35, was standing outside a truck holding a firearm. Feb. 20, 2026, at approximately 1:52 a.m., the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Investigations Bureau investigated a homicide at 69 County Road C011 in Buena Vista, N.M. 

Earlier that morning, at approximately 12:44 a.m., NMSP Dispatch received a call regarding 10 to 15 gunshots being heard in the area of 69 County Road C011, possibly coming from a white pickup truck.

FBI: Gallup Man Arrested For Assault Causing Serious Injury

ALBUQUERQUE — A Gallup man is facing federal charges after allegedly attacking an adult victim inside a vehicle, causing serious facial injuries.

According to court documents, Dec. 31, 2025, Dennison Billy, Jr., 35, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, allegedly assaulted an adult victim while the victim was driving and Billy was in the passenger seat of a vehicle. FBI: Zuni Man Sentenced For Abuse

ALBUQUERQUE — A Zuni man was sentenced to ten years in prison for sexual abuse.

There is no parole in the federal system.

According to court records, Aug. 19, 2023, Stanton Hannaweeke, 63, an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Zuni, engaged in a nonconsensual sexual act with Jane Doe.

Hannaweeke pleaded guilty to one count of sexual abuse. Upon his release from prison, Hannaweeke will be subject to ten years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.

New Mexico State Police Arrest Couple Following An OIS And Two Day Manhunt

Feb. 23, 2026, New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau agents were requested to investigate an officer-involved shooting involving an NMSP Sergeant on US Highway 285, south of Vaughn in Guadalupe County, New Mexico.

Agents learned that the NMSP Sergeant conducted a traffic stop on a black Kia Sportage on US Highway 285 near mile marker 185 after learning the vehicle was reportedly stolen.

Driver Ends Up In Ditch Off Edge Of NM 4

A driver alone in their vehicle somehow drove off the edge of N.M. 4 on Tuesday afternoon. The tip of the vehicle is visible here to the right of the tow truck, at the base of the tree. Los Alamos police said the driver sustained minor injuries and was transported (by Los Alamos Fire Department EMTs) to Los Alamos Medical Center.
