LAHS Olions To Compete At 2023 Enchantment Awards

Members of the Los Alamos High School (LAHS) Olions were recently adjudicated and have been recognized as State Finalists for their work and performances in the LAHS Olions’ Spring ’23 show, Pippin.

They will perform and compete in the largest celebration of high school theatre in the state, the Enchantment Awards, at 7:30 p.m. Friday,  April 28 in Popejoy Hall on the UNM campus.

World Premiere Of Oppenheimer Documentary April 22

SALA Event Center is hosting the world premiere of award-winning documentarian Larry Sheffield’s newest film, “Oppenheimer After Trinity”.

The documentary will be shown at 7:15 p.m. April 22, which is J. Robert Oppenheimer’s birthday, and again at 3 p.m. April 23. Sheffield will attend the screenings.

A special screening for SALA members will be held 5-8 p.m. April 22.

TAOS — This weekend is Rumble on the Rio!, an action-packed, two day, roller derby tournament, featuring leagues from across the southwest.

Seven roller derby leagues from across Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico will converge on Taos, NM for a gripping weekend, chock-full of hard-hitting skaters, full-contact puns, and women’s empowerment.

Piano concerts are a common occurrence and certainly having two pianists share the stage is not unusual. But what about two pianists sharing one piano? Now that is something new.
