TAOS — This weekend is Rumble on the Rio!, an action-packed, two day, roller derby tournament, featuring leagues from across the southwest.
Seven roller derby leagues from across Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico will converge on Taos, NM for a gripping weekend, chock-full of hard-hitting skaters, full-contact puns, and women’s empowerment.
Rumble on the Rio! is April 22-23 at Taos Youth and Family Center. Doors open at 9 a.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday. The complete schedule is available at www.rumbleontherio.com. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
Rumble on the Rio is New Mexico’s first roller derby tournament, hosted by Los Alamos Derby Dames, Los Alamos Cherry Bombs, and Elevated Roller Derby. The tournament adult and junior games to support skaters of all ages. Food and merch will be available for purchase that directly supports each team.
