Taste The Sky At Los Alamos Airport Sunday

Zia Credit Union sponsors the 2014 United Way Youth Team, which is raising money for the Community Action Fund and for a new program that was introduced to Los Alamos High School called Link Crew. As part of that effort, the Youth Team is hosting an annual Taste The Sky dinner event 4-7 p.m., Sunday on the Los Alamos Airport tarmac. About a 5-inch piece, Daikon Radish
1 carrot
3 cups of water
3 tablespoons of rice vinegar
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons salt

one bunch green onion, chopped in small rings

Group Gathers For Friday Night Meetup At Blue Window

 Members of the local Meetup group gathered Friday night at the Blue Window Bistro in downtown Los Alamos to have a drink or dinner, visit with their friends and make some new ones. Anna Dillane, holding the Meetup sign and Dennis Little, sitting next to Dillane, host the weekly events. The community is invited to attend the Rotary Club of Los Alamos’ California Table event 4:30-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at Smith’s Marketplace outdoor Pavilion.

The annual fundraising event includes a six-course meal paired with wines to complement each course:

Ingredients:

1 to 1½ pounds of halibut, Skin off
canola oil for frying
one egg white, beaten
½ cup beer
1/3cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
1/8 cup cornstarch
½ teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper
 
Directions:
 
Clean your fish fillets so that most of the dark meat (gray) is trimmed off. Take out any pin bones. Rinse the fish and pat it dray with paper towels. Cut the fish into smaller pieces, about 4 “x 1 “ thick. Mix together the ingredients with a whisk.

NMED Inspector Provides Food Handling Training For Los Alamos Restaurants At Time Out Pizzeria

Co-owners Trisha and Omar Sanchez of the Time Out Pizzeria in White Rock and their new location in Los Alamos spoke with Northern New Mexico Environment Department Inspector Michael Bencomo to request a food service training session for their growing staff.
