Multi-Agency Task Force Arrests Albuquerque Man On Federal Firearm, Drug Charges

A multi-agency task force arrested an Albuquerque man today on federal firearm and drug charges.
 
Henry Felix, 49, is charged in a federal complaint with possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime; being a felon in possession of a firearm; and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

Salsa Swindler Found Guilty Of Securities Fraud

LAS CRUCES – New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department Superintendent Marguerite Salazar announced Thursday that Eduardo Triste of Las Cruces was found guilty on by a jury of defrauding a 70-year-old Orange County, Calif. woman who he persuaded to invest in his fictitious salsa company.

Triste was convicted of Fraud over $20,000 and Securities Fraud.

“We will continue to protect the citizens of New Mexico from the nefarious actions of wrongdoers who prey on trusting individuals,” Salazar said.

WASHINGTON, D.C. Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Loera, known by various aliases, including “El Chapo” and “El Rapido,” was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Brian M. Cogan to a life term of imprisonment plus 30 years.

ALBUQUERQUE Last week, the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) won a summary judgment of $52,240.50 on behalf of seven workers of the now defunct CPST Consulting, LLC in Albuquerque after the business ceased operations in 2015 without distributing final paychecks for employees.
 
The amount adjudged includes $16,920 in unpaid wages plus 200% in liquidated damages and interest mandated by state law when workers are left unpaid.
