Mysteries Of Los Alamos Explored In New Podcast

Something weird and creepy is going on in Los Alamos and it’s not mysteriously appearing potholes … it’s Secret City Files Podcast.

Since its launch in October the podcast, produced by three young Los Alamos writers, has been creeping out listeners with tales featuring mysteries and secret lore from Los Alamos and northern New Mexico. The podcast is more than halfway through its first season. It broadcasts every two weeks. All the episodes can be downloaded, not just the current one.

NHCC Art Museum Opens Qué Chola March 8

ALBUQUERQUE The National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) Art Museum’s upcoming exhibition, Qué Chola, opens Friday March 8, with a reception in the Art Museum 6-9 p.m., and closes Aug. 4.
 
The exhibit features Cholas and homegirls in art and pop culture and celebrates the Chola as a symbol of strength, power and resilience in the face of racial, gender and economic adversity.

Jacqueline Reid, a founding member of Fusion theatre in Albuquerque, recently taught a class on directing the short play at the Performing Arts Center in Los Alamos.
 
The class attracted participants from Santa Fe, Dixon, Albuquerque and Arizona, as well as local residents, totaling 22 participants in all.
