New Mexico Federation of Republican Women President Elaine Miller of Albuquerque attended last week’s Republican National Convention in Tampa Fla., as an alternate delegate. LeadHer: Los Alamos Launches Sept. 12

LeadHer: Los Alamos News:

LeadHer: Los Alamos is a new, interdenominational Christian women’s group.

The first LeadHer Los Alamos meeting will be 6:30–7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12 at the Mesa Public Library (Community Rooms upstairs) in Los Alamos.

The purpose of this group is to help women grow spiritually through revelation, inspiration and application.

LeadHer Los Alamos meets twice a month. The first meeting the women get together and watch a video teaching with a theme.

OBITUARY: BOB NUNZ 1939-Sept. 2, 2012

Robert A. Nunz, 73, of White Rock, N.M., passed away peacefully Sept. 2 after a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

Bob was born in New York City March 5, 1939 to Sylvester and Elizabeth Nunz. He is the younger brother of Gregory Nunz, formerly of White Rock, now of Las Vegas, Nev.
 
Bob was employed as a Probation Officer for the City of New York serving in both Family and Criminal Courts and was promoted to supervisor and then to branch chief for the Borough of the Bronx.
 
He married Mary Carpenter in 1972. Upon their retirement in 1995, they relocated to White Rock.

4 large chicken breasts
1 1/2 cups of cup up apricots
1 package dry onion soup mix
2 cups of Russian Salad dressing (not creamy)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
6 cups of cooked rice

Ruby K’s Bagel Café has been a part of Beth Bowman’s routine for the past seven years. Every Wednesday, after working out with friends, they all go to Ruby K’s for bagels.

She has recently joined the staff as a baker.

Bowman, along with Katherine Johnson (another Ruby K’s employee), is test baking to come up with a new line of cupcakes.

LAYL Seeks Dirty Cars for Fundraiser

LAYL News:

Los Alamos Youth Leadership (LAYL) members will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 in the parking lot at Los Alamos National Bank.

Money raised from the event will be used on volunteer projects such as the annual Adopt A Family. Last year’s car wash raised about $350 dollars.

LAYL was founded in 2005. It is a program that helps students in grades 9-12 gain leadership skills that are useful later in life.
