SANTA FE — For the third year in a row, Gov. Susana Martinez has announced the success of New Mexico’s annual child support bench warrant round up, which collected more than $140,000 in unpaid child support.
“Parents have a responsibility to contribute to the upbringing of their children,” Martinez said. “This annual round up continues to show real results for kids and families in improving their economic stability. New Mexico remains committed to providing as many tools as possible to help parents support their children emotionally and financially.”

The Los Alamos Master Gardeners Association recently dedicated a new orchard area within the Los Alamos Demonstration Garden. Terracing of the area at the corner of Oppenheimer Drive and Central Avenue was an Eagle Scout project of Christopher Rose, Troop 22. The area has been christened ‘Martha’s Orchard’ in honor of Master Gardener and orchardist extraordinaire Martha Davis, center front. Hawks Girls Cross Country Team placed a strong 3rd place finish at Saturday’s ATC Invite. Photo by Blake WoodIn a race of more than 130 athletes at the ATC Everybody Invite Saturday, the Los Alamos Middle School boys cross country team claimed the top four spots individually, leading to a commanding team win.
Jevon Montoya was the individual boys winner, followed by Shawn Williams (2nd), Duncan Fuehne (3rd) and Elijah Velasquez (4th).
