SANTA FE – Could the prescription drugs you take to stay healthy and cure diseases hurt your hearing? Absolutely.
The September meeting of the Santa Fe Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) will feature Charles Vandiver, R.Ph, PH.C. The local pharmacist will discuss ototoxic medications, drugs that can cause hearing loss and tinnitus or aggravate existing conditions. Participants are invited to bring lists of their medications for personal advice.
The meeting is free and open to all. No reservations are required. The meeting is 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Vitamin Cottage Event Center, Natural Grocers, Cerrillos Road and Richards Avenue in Santa Fe. The meeting room is equipped with a hearing loop that allows attendees to use the telecoil switch on hearing aids and hear without interference.
