Los Alamos Golf Course Parking Lot Construction
COUNTY News:
Construction of the final phase of the Los Alamos COunty Golf Course parking lot is scheduled to begin Monday, April 18.
The contractor, GM Emulsion, will install a perimeter fence around the eastern portion of the main parking lot for safety. Patrons of the golf course will be allowed to use the western portion of the parking lot and overflow parking areas.
As large trucks will be hauling base and asphalt materials into the work area, motorists and patrons are asked to use caution. Work hours are scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday. The project is scheduled for completion Read More

Patricia Ann (Turney) Thomson passed away quietly and peacefully on April 7, 2016 at the age of 82.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, David Browning Thomson and by her brother Bill Turney and sister Genevieve Ratcliff. Man Dies Tuesday Night On Walnut Street
POLICE News:
Los Alamos Police responded to the scene of a man found dead Tuesday night on Walnut Street.
Neighbors began contacting the Los Alamos Daily Post overnight following the sound of gunshots saying it appears the man died on the street at about 10 p.m. of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“With our initial investigation, we have determined that there is no threat to the community,” Cmdr. Preston Ballew said.
The Office of the Medical Investigator will determine the cause of death, Ballew said. Read More

A research team at AlgaStar Inc., a Florida-based biomass R&D cultivation company, reported to the Algae Biomass Summit in 2014 that electromagnetic field (EMF) biostimulation had yielded a 300 percent biomass growth increase and 174 percent increase in lipid oil content in several alga samples over controlled growth conditions.
