The LAHS Boys Tennis team participated in the Albuquerque Academy Tennis Invite April 7-9.
The Boys competed in the red group consisting of Albuquerque Academy, Bosque High School, and Piedra Vista. LAHS Boys played all three teams at best of nine matches including six singles and three doubles teams.

The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) Blue Mine Rescue team took top honors last week in the Southwest Regional Mine Rescue Contest, held in Carlsbad.
 
The WIPP Blue outdueled five other teams from the region, including the defending national champion WIPP Red team, to win first place overall in the competition. WIPP’s Red team took first place in the first aid competition.

The Family YMCA has released a summary of services it provided in the communities it served in 2015. This independent YMCA is based in Los Alamos and operates a health facility in Los Alamos, and teen centers there and in Española.

Jemez Mountain Trail – a national scenic byway – is amping up its aesthetic appeal with a more than 30 mile cleanup effort April 23, in honor of Earth Day. Volunteers are needed.
