Jim Allen died peacefully on March 5, at his home in Santa Fe, surrounded by his brothers and family. He is survived by his daughter Alicia, daughter-in- law Marcia, son Daniel, granddaughter Tyler, and his brothers Michael, Peter and Steve.
 
Born in New York City, Jim grew up in Wayne, Pennsylvania, graduating from Radnor High School. He then worked in Alaska in the fishing industry, and went on to travel the world, working as an interpreter for the United Nations in Vienna, and teaching English in Greece

Los Alamos police have taken shoplifting suspect Ashley Alexanda Garcia of Hernandez into custody. An LAPD spokesperson told the Los Alamos Daily Post this evening that a tip led to the arrest of Hernandez by the Rio Arriba Sheriffs Department.

Garcia, 23, was transferred to the Los Alamos Detention Facility. She is facing charges of shoplifting, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and duty to give information and render aid, in connection with an incident Thursday, March 9 at Bealls Department Store on Trinity Drive. SANTA FE – This afternoon, the Senate approved House Bill 75, a bill to limit the use of restraint and seclusion techniques in schools. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Jim Smith (R-Bernalillo, Sandoval and Santa Fe), passed on a bipartisan 30 to 4 vote.

House Bill 75 specifies conditions when restraining and seclusion techniques may be permitted in schools, and it requires New Mexico’s public schools to adopt policies and procedures for the use of restraint and seclusion techniques in their school safety plans. Billy Graham Gamble was born to Mary Elizabeth Tidrick Gamble and Russell Gamble in Winterset, Iowa October 31, 1925. He died March 8, 2017 in Espanola, New Mexico, with family by his side.

Billy was 91 years young, and lived a full and adventuresome life. The youngest of four boys, Billy was the explorer of the family. FBI: Navajo Police Officer Dies In Shooting

FBI News:

The FBI and Navajo Nation are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a Navajo Police Officer. He was Houston James Largo, 27, a decorated officer with five years of service.

The officer was shot while responding to a domestic violence call near Prewitt, N.M., on the Navajo Nation, early Sunday morning.

A suspect is in custody.

The officer was airlifted to the University of New Mexico Hospital.

The New Mexico State Police and McKinley County Sheriff’s Office are assisting with the investigation.

SANTA FE – This afternoon, the House of Representatives passed House Bill 427, a bill sponsored by Rep. Monica Youngblood (R-Bernalillo) to prevent hazing in New Mexico’s schools. The House approved the bill by a 56 to 2 vote.

Youngblood’s bill would require every New Mexico educational institution to adopt, post, and enforce a hazing prevention policy. The bill defines what actions are considered hazing and lists the areas that hazing policies need to address to ensure the policies are consistent statewide.

A statewide warrant has been issued for 23-year-old Ashley Alexanda Garcia of Hernandez, on charges of shoplifting, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and duty to give information and render aid, in connection with an incident Thursday, March 9 at Bealls Department Store at 610 Trinity Dr.

LAPD Sgt. Daniel Roberts and Cpl. Ben Henrichs responded to Bealls after two women reportedly fled the area in a silver four-door Volvo after striking a pedestrian with their vehicle to leave the area.

The Los Alamos Police Department has received multiple reports of a person calling Los Alamos citizens today claiming to be a law enforcement officer.
 
The person is lying to resident’s stating they owe court fees. The suspect also is using names of local judges and law enforcement personnel to try and persuade potential victims.
 
The Los Alamos Police Department asks residents to hang up on these types of phone calls as this method is a verified scam and Los AlamoslLaw enforcement offcials would never call citizens and demand money.

NMDOT: Work Zone Memorial Coming To New Mexico

He was born in 1922 in Topeka, Kansas to his parents Ray and Ruth Yarnell. He attended the University of Kansas and the University of Minnesota, attaining a PHD in Physics.
