Venancio Aragon Presents Virtual Artist Talk Nov. 19

Join Santa Fe, New Mexico’s School for Advanced Research (SAR) for a virtual artist talk and studio tour with renowned Navajo weavers and textile artist Venancio Aragon, 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020. 

Diné/Navajo weaver Aragon is SAR’s 2020 Rollin and Mary Ella King Native artist fellow. Aragon presents on his unique and stunning creations and his efforts to document the structures of lesser known and rarely practiced techniques seen in the Indian Arts Research Center’s textile collection. 

“I’ve always grown up with the mind frame that nobody tells you what to weave, that the loom is one of the few places in the world where you have absolute autonomy,” Aragon  said.
