SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 147 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County remains at 6 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update includes 6 additional deaths reported in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:

  • 12 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 2 new cases in Chaves County
  • 1 new case in Cibola County
  • 1 new case in Colfax County
  • 4 new cases in Curry County
  • 27 new cases in Doña Ana County
  • 4 new cases in Eddy County

A few years back I read a story that highlighted a teacher’s creative lesson on privilege. As I recall the story, the teacher asked his/her students to take out a piece of paper for a quiz on what it means to be privileged.

After placing a trashcan in the center of the room in front of the first row of desks, the teacher told the students to crumple their paper into a ball and throw it into the trashcan. Those who were successful would get an A; those who weren’t would fail.

State Land Office Hearing On Rule Change Allowing Temporary Shut-In Of Oil Wells 1 P.M. Friday, June 12

SANTA FE – In April, the New Mexico State Land Office finalized emergency rulemaking to allow oil and gas lessees to temporarily stop production of oil wells for at least 30 days.

FBI: Mescalero Woman Pleads Guilty To Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury

ALBUQUERQUE — Kylee Mee-Shell Martinez, 27, of Mescalero pleaded guilty June 1 in federal court in Las Cruces to assault resulting in serious bodily injury.

According to Martinez’s plea agreement and other public court records, Martinez got into an argument with another woman Oct. 6, 2019 at a house party on the Mescalero Apache Reservation.
