Los Alamos County & LANL To Conduct Joint Emergency Preparedness Exercise Around Town Wednesday May 22

County/LANL News:

Los Alamos County and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) have scheduled a joint emergency preparedness exercise for Wednesday, May 22.

The exercise will test the preparedness of the County and Laboratory personnel, and their response in the case of an actual emergency.

The exercise will begin at 9 a.m. and last approximately five hours.

The event is only an exercise.

Los Alamos Public Library announces a special guest for Storytime at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, May 18 in Mesa Public Library. Local Author Nikoli Carr will join library staff to read his recently published storybook “Wally the Wake-up Pup.”

Carr is a southern New Mexico native who has been writing stories since he was in second grade. The high school tennis season drew to a close with the state championships being held in Albuquerque May 8-11, 2024. The Los Alamos High School boys Varsity team placed second overall losing to Albuquerque Academy 5-0.
