LAMC News:

Los Alamos Medical Center (LAMC) has announced that it will host its annual Teddy Bear Clinic for the youngest students from Los Alamos and White Rock elementary schools on Tuesday, May 21.

Approximately 225 kindergarteners, their teachers and parent chaperones will get a fun and educational look at their local hospital, all while gaining a comfort level within a healthcare setting and being exposed to medical careers.

With the help of a Classic Air Medical helicopter and crew, and the Los Alamos County Police and Fire Departments, the students will also have the opportunity to tour a med-evac helicopter, police car, fire truck and an ambulance, all of which are key contributors to having quality healthcare in Los Alamos and the surrounding region.

Along with many fond memories, each student will go home with their own copy of the “The Berenstain Bears: Hospital Friends” and a miniature LAMC teddy bear.

“Our team looks forward to this great event every year, as it’s truly one of our favorites and underscores our mission of making communities healthier,” LAMC CEO Tracie Stratton said. “Welcoming these kindergarteners to our facility goes a long way in making them feel comfortable with healthcare settings and professionals – in addition to leaving smiles on the faces of these students and our staff alike.”
