LAPS To Host Q & A Session For Potential District 2 School Board Candidates Monday Evening May 13

LAPS News:

Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) will host a question-and-answer session 6 p.m. Monday, May 13 in School Boardroom at 2075 Trinity Drive.

All potential school board members interested in serving in the role for District 2 recently vacated by Antonio Jaurigue are invited to attend.

Due to scheduling conflicts, the previously advertised session at noon had to be canceled.

Present and past school board members will be in attendance to discuss their experiences serving on the school board. They will also talk about time commitments and the general responsibilities of a board member. Read More

SFCC, Higher Education Center To Close For Memorial Day

SFCC News:

SANTA FE — Santa Fe Community College and the Santa Fe Higher Education Center will be closed Monday, May 27, in honor of Memorial Day.

No classes or activities will be held and no other student services will be available. The college’s early childhood development center, Kids Campus, and the William C. Witter Fitness Education Center also will be closed.

SFCC and the Santa Fe Higher Education Center will reopen Tuesday, May 28. SFCC’s William C. Witter Fitness Education Center will reopen at 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 28.

It’s Wax Museum Time once again at Chamisa Elementary School. Continuing with a longstanding tradition, the Chamisa third and fourth graders will be presenting their annual Wax Museum show Wednesday, May 15.

Bilingual Storytime About NM Plants At Ranger Read & Learn

In a partnership with the Martha Liebert Public Library in Bernalillo, Coronado Historic Site is offering a new “Ranger Read and Learn” storytime that is free and open to all ages 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 18, at Martha Liebert Public Library, 124 Calle Malinche.

At Ranger Read and Learn, a ranger from Coronado Historic Site will read a story and offer related conversation and activities. NMDVR Offers ‘Money Smart’ Training For Small Business

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (NMDVR) is offering an online Money Smart for Small Business course beginning Wednesday, May 29, 2024. The 14 free sessions will be held Wednesdays 2:30-4:30 p.m. Mountain Time.
