Mountain Mixers Begin Square Dancing Lessons Sunday

Now that football season is finished and Super Bowl LIV is history, people might wonder what to do Sunday afternoons.

The Mountain Mixers, in conjunction with the Los Alamos County Parks and Recreation Division, suggest taking square dancing classes. Lessons will be 1:45-3:45 p.m. Sunday through May 3, at the Pueblo Complex gymnasium on Diamond Drive.

The first two classes are free; afterward the cost is $5 per class.

New Show ‘Inside Arts’ Begins Airing On PAC 8 Feb. 16

Los Alamos Museum of Art and PAC 8 Community Media Center have teamed up and produced a series of recordings featuring regional artists, musicians and collectors.

The new show, called Inside Arts will begin airing Feb. 16 and will air weekly at 8:30 p.m. Sundays, 4 p.m. Tuesdays and 8 p.m. Thursdays on Cable Channel 8 in Los Alamos.

The shows feature T.K Thompson, Karen Wray, Robert Wells, Ken Hanson, The Hot Flashes, Ruth Williamson and Petr and Louise Jandacek. Other productions are underway.

Valentine’s Day is coming up, and if your partner loves beer, might I suggest you get them tickets to attend the upcoming Bathtub Row Brewing 2020 Stout Invitational, throwing down Feb. 15 at Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op in Central Park Square.  

Chocolate is boring; underwear is meh, flowers die – beer is where it’s at if you truly want to proclaim your undying love for your craft-beer loving valentine.

Franz Schubert was born Jan. 31, 1797. In the grand tradition of “Schubertiade”, Claire Detels, piano; and Mark Jackson, baritone; will present several Schubert pieces at noon Wednesday in Fuller Lodge.
